![]() A self-taught artist, I began drawing and painting at the age of ten. I spent the next 35 years doing detailed pencil, pen-and-ink, and water colors. I began using oils around 1992 and picked up a painting knife 3 years later. This totally freed up an otherwise very disciplined technique. ![]() From Siesta Key to Boca Grande I am known as ''the guy who paints on the beach.'' Plein-aire painting is my first love. ![]() Having lived by the sea all my life, I focus upon life in and around the sea, from people on the beach to boats and man-made structures around it. I hope you enjoy the thick textures and shadows created with the palette' knife and feel the energy that is present in all my paintings.
